"Nothing can quench love"
I am the cool waters of the River Ness
that gush and flood towards the open sea,
and you are the sparkles of happiness
that shimmer and flicker upon me.
Sometimes the clouds try to block out your light
as they groan and grumble in the dark sky,
but your joy finds a way to shine its might
and with patience conquers with beams that fly.
Your love is warm and kind and pure and sweet.
I saw the honey bee suck there today.
My love is deep and swims in this liquid heat
of gold to meet you halfway in sunny May.
Nothing can quench love and all its emotions.
Nor can the rivers wash it away, nor the oceans.
