Without you
In the middle of the nightI wake up from the heat
Climbing onto the roof
I sit and watch the moon
grow bigger with every breath
Writing line after line
without you
You said I'd never
manage a word again
after you had gone
but I am writing
to my heart's displeasure
word upon word
without you
It's four AM and I'm hungry
for myself again
You used to hold me
the way I do now
But I do it without the pain
dancing sadistically in your eyes
and I am writing line after line
without you
