An Excess of Silence

One thousand wants to be said,
not enough words to describe them.
One hundred feelings of the heart,
not enough emotions to express them.

When all you can do is remain silent
and be fearful of the future,
what is there left to live for?
When at every corner is another
painstaking moment,
what can you do but walk a straight path?

The twists and turns that fate throws your way
only contribute to the untimely end of
what could have been,
what might have been,
what should have been...

Eli The PoetBay support member heart!
You do write with maturity considering your caution that we bear in my mind your youth.

The only constructive thought I have at this stage is to be aware of the use of clichés; an example of this is the first line of the third stanza. This is not to say that clichés should be avoided completely, they do have their place, it's just that at times they can be sorely overused; often by the novice writer.

You are certainly not guilty of this. Moreover, as a writer you are thoughtful and poetic, and from these attributes alone I would hope that you continue writing.

Thank You and best wishes.
