With apologies to L'Oreal.

Asking for Advice

Asking for advice,
They all told me
To grin and bear it.

I've always
Grinned and borne it
For you,
Because,

You're worth it.

But seriously folks,
No woman should
Have to bear
What I have borne,

To suffer total betrayal,
Death after death,
Till none of my brothers
Are left,
No parents,
To bear my trials
For me.
No aunts
Nor uncles
Left to spoil me,

But you,
My brightest star,
Are worth it.

And so,
I'll swallow it
And swallow it,
All the bitterness,
Without flinching,
Each drop of his
Hemlock,
Will not pass
My lips.

I will be strong,
Because,

You're worth it.

And I love you.

Inspiration comes from all kinds of places. L'Oreal should be flattered!

Your bright star obviously shines on for you in the midst of darkness. I like the love conquers all feeling to this piece.
