Stars



It's been some time since I saw so many
stars in the night sky
it was a new moon,
so they could shine bright

When I see them I think
of that time we watched them together
as I counted them slowly
and we conversed idly

Makes me think of all the things
that I could have done then
or could do now still
while there's still time left

so help me please
it's difficult to move one step forward
take a half step towards me
& i'll take a half step towards you

if we continue like that,
by time we'll arrive
and then we can stand together
under a starry night sky
