I haven't written in a while but I just started my first year of college and I had to write this for my core class. I think I'll start writing more..enjooooy
from china sets and our old grandfather clock.
I am from the countryside;
green hills, black cows, and blue skies.
I am from the morning glories and butterfly bushes,
the tomato and basil plants outside my backdoor.
I am from cooking while wildly singing and dancing, yard sale-ing, and loud laughter, from Gaunt and Ottens and Parrott.
I am from the giving back and open-minds.
From don't be sorry, be happy and better write those thank-you notes!
I am from Unity; many paths lead to one truth,
non-denominational and tolerant.
I'm from Alexandria, Australia, and Canada,
homemade pesto sauce, dark chocolate covered espresso beans,
and chicken & dumplings.
From the countless times my dad gave to others when he didn't have much for himself, the beauty my mother carried and the smiles and happiness she spread when she laughed at restaurants, and the car accident that tragically took my mom and step dad last month and left broken pieces for us to slowly learn how to put back together.
I am from the boxes stacking up in my once occupied home, the lost key of my mother's locked up safety deposit box, and the memories that will last forever.
