One honest word

What have we come to?

Leaving behind us any last bit of truth

Twirling, dancing

deeper into our darker side

where slavery is freedom

where seduction is truth

where pain is love

One honest word

from the most thruthful of lips

and she becomes an outcast

One stand for justice

from the most beautiful of hearts

and he is crucified

They watch the hearts drunk on sex, the minds hungry for argumentative fights

watch the whole world party as though life would last forever

as though each second, each breath

doesn't matter

What have we to celebrate?

Where is our future?

when those things that make us human

our hearts

our minds

are lost..

This is very well written. I feel the thread of anxiety running through the poem with a rhythm that forces me to continue right through to the last line. That line is a powerful two word summary of the whole poem.
Great stuff!
