About a tree I played in as a child.

Playground

Our hazel tree
with friendly boughs.
How we loved you
as you loved us.
Always bending graciously,
never breaking the trust.
You held us safely
with your branches,
safe from the hard ground below.
Now I pray, if only life
could be like that.

Zoya Zaidi
Old trees sometimes as old as you,
Can be your life's companions true,
That made you feel secure,
Canopied you from rain, when you
Could not run home, made your limbs,
Strong, when you climbed the boughs.
Yes, an old tree can be a friend true!
