You'll Always Be My Sunflower
There's a small home town where we once grew up inI still remember our time together there
with the summer rain beating like our hearts beats
and love letters written on small paper notes
hidden in this big oak tree behind your yard
I still remember your freckled face
while waiting by the river
to catch our biggest treasure
and being pirate and princess of our own tree house
where you gave me my first kiss
before leaving our dreams
all that now so old to remember
memories of gold
'cause time flies by, people move on
but baby you'll stay the same to me
'cause you'll always be my sunflower
They say I'm lost when I cover myself in memories
but last time I saw you
was in Chicago, for a few years ago
and we had it great, talking about our memories
you told me you loved me
and before you left me once again
you gave me another kiss
Baby we'll always be the same
you'll stay the same to me
'cause you'll always be my sunflower
and if there was another time and place
I'd be yours and you'd be mine
Another few more years went by
I went back to our home town
they say you was here not long ago
so I visited our tree house
sat on the floor with bursting tears
'cause there was a letter from you
And I still remember
the words you always wanted me to hear
baby we'd always be the same
even if you'll never be back on this planet
'cause you'll always be my sunflower
and I never had my chance to tell you
that you were the only one I ever loved
