I've been reading philosophical essays and wanted to challenge myself to be uncomfortable and try a different style
The Intensity of Nothingness
Invisibly moving in
time-lapse progression
I deliberately hunt for
that acrid desire
to feel without meaning
and love without purpose.
I enter a bistro
I don't recognize,
and sit next to her
as a chair would be
placed near another.
A black fly sits
on the face of a clock
winding down.
Staring then glancing,
Staring then glancing,
in measured tones of
bored intensity; I notice that
my glass and her indifference
are stillborn twins conceived
of nothingness.
