You're Long Gone

you're long gone
I'm running through a thick mist
I can't see a thing
'cause my eyes are fogged up by
my tears

and the night is cold
sometimes it hurts a lot
but you're long gone
there's nothing left for me to hold onto

I want to shout, want to scream
but I just run away in tears
and sometimes I try not to think
but sometimes it hurts instead
with all the memories build up in me

you're long gone
time flies when you're smiling a lot
and I keep saying I'm fine
but on the inside I'm breaking apart

you're long gone
baby you're long gone
and I'm standing on the corner of the edge
ready to fall, ready to let go

'cause baby you're long gone
and through a war of my own
I try to stand up strong
but somewhere among memories
I still miss you
and I still cry, because of you

Nick Matherne
This is a sweet lament for the loss of a Loved one
You convey the deep sadness that loneliness and loss brings,
the deep hole that continues to affect us long after someone is "long gone"

this is a great write
keep on writing!
Good work.
