this can't go on


you know this can’t go on
the repetition
which once saved you
hid you from those demons
that wished to eat your soul
does nothing now
to sustain you
as you prepare yourself
to grow old
you can’t sit there anymore
long hours at a screen
long days that were never seen
that carried you
while trying to understand
the lies the world had given you
that ache for trust to be found
that was only ever in you
not out there
in faceless realms
that could never give to you
anything
but this repetition…

you know this can’t go on
