excerpt from Jim Rose and other acrostic stories; I hereby introduce
Delmar Knox
A boy and his dog
Delmar Knox had always felt lonely.
On his fourteenth birthday he found a stray dog.
Guess it was too ugly for anyone to keep.
Nobody noticed that Delmar had a dog up in his room.
And nobody noticed that the dog smelled of turpentine.
Most people did not even notice Delmar.
Even his face was smudged in peoples memories.
Delmar`s dog however, licked his face every morning.
Now this dog was not a pleasant sight.
And it had the shape of mutated armadillo.
Nonetheless she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
Curling up in his lap every night.
You could tell the two was one existence
if they ever did exist
