i cant sleep, insomnia is kicking in and im watching my two year old sleep. so peaceful

i hope a part of you always needs me

your eyelids closed

i can see your eyes

moving underneath

as you dream

while you sleep

im up again,

cant sleep but thats normal

here lately so i just

watch you

-----

inocently i wonder

what you see in your

dreams at night,

i never remember mine

so i coudn't tell you,

but yours seem so

vivid just from watching

you sleep, it makes

me so curious

-------

do you live your

bigest fantasies in

your dreams, are

you everything you

want to be when you grow

up? can you fly without

a plane, do you talk

to animals?

i wish so much that you

could tell me what you

see

-----

but you cant hardly talk yet,

your only two,  and

though id like to think

otherwise you

probably dont remember

your dreams when you wake

up in the morning,

but you move in your

sleep, and you smile

and huff

-----

the only ones that

i can put even an idea

on are the bad ones

because you wake up

and you need me.

sometimes i wait

for you to wake up

crying just so you'll

need me again

miss,

indipendent

-----

your growing up so fast

and i just hope

that no matter  how

old you get,

a part of you

will always need

me

because eveything

i am

will always

need you

i love you aubrey raylynn

ps I love your phrase, "you smile and huff"

This captures so perfectly the feeling of parent watching over their sleeping child. I felt that as a dad, but I think it's different for a mother, deeper.

I love the way you've separated the stanzas with a line, each a separate thought, wondering, each a part of the whole. This is such a vivid image, you watching over your sleeping child. Anyone who has been there will appreciate it, and those who haven't can perhaps understand it.
