Simple Pleasures
Rain pattering on a balding pateCrinkling Yellow slickers
Jingling black galoshes
Grass emerald green from a welcome drench
Tree bark slick obsidian
Leaves wet bright with prism tips
Clouds grey with promise of more
Gutters and downspouts chuckling with runoff
roads shining fresh polished
Free again of late summer dust
Sidewalks dark and glimering
Inviting feet to bubbling puddles
A joyful walk on a lovely day
for Charlie and his Grandpa
