Stereotypes?

Two women
One in the latest grunge with rips holes and celebrated dishevelment
The other in crisp madras flowing Kenyan fashion in a riot of colour
Encounter each other on a city street once fashionable now in decay
One surly the other pensive
One arrogant the other confident
One vocally abusive speech laced with street slang
The other articulate and inclusive
Both are looking for drugs
The one on the street the other in the pharmacy
Two women
Who are they
Yours to decide

The tendency of course is to prejudge by appearances, assume a first impression is prescient and penetrating insight . . . almost always wrong. A vivid reminder that things, and especially people, are rarely what they at first seem. How boring it would be if they were.
