October Rain

Stark wire wobbles,
Blusterous day of dingy grey-
Dove keeps her balance.

Pluvial keening
Sniveling down the alley-
Cowering cat scowls.

Collar scraping chin,
Loafers slapping silver pools-
Sad October rain.
