Art

They say to write of one's fears is what is truly inspiring
that the meaning of art is to push boundaries, and
to break through established culturally defined taboos and rules

I have touched upon my fears and the expression of them has shook me to my core
I find
though the words they become may inspire and express some kind of fearful or twisted beauty
maybe some form of exquisite sadness
I find
that in my expression the joy of realising into words what truly engages me
what I feel needs to be said
though it may be done so poorly
when done so I feel I have expressed
so that others can understand
(or me in 10 years)

is when I feel a connection has been made
between myself
and words
and that
to me
is art

I like this very much indeed, my friend.
It reminds me of a recent exchange with my mentor, where she encouraged me to express rather than repress my fears in my writing. I prefer to keep such writing private, so I do admire your bravery. And it is never done poorly!
I suppose just as reading a favourite novel brings fresh perspective each time, so our own words revisited may lead to an even deeper understanding of our essence.
Well, I'm just rambling again now :-)
Applause!
