our time

i love him

i love his laugh

i love his smile

i love his eyes

he is the reason

life is worth living

yet im tired

tired of the lies

tired of the drama

tired of the fighting

not with him

with his mother

things are difficult with her

in the picture

things are stuck

not going anywhere

i love him

but is her

heiracy worth

this battle?

is he worth the

the stress implicated

on my head?

should be an

easy anser yet

its not.

its a struggle

in my inner mind

is he worth the headaches

and wasted time?

think so but im not sure

it isn't fair i shouldn't

have to share whats mine.

i shouldnt have to sacrafice

our time

This poem is like a dryer on the spin/dry cycle, it just goes round and round. Like life. You know what they say about husbands—can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. But you know what they say about mothers-in-laws? Neither do I. Grin and bear it? Put arsenic in her tea?

No. Don't do that.

Joliet is a god-awful place.

It isn't always about love, is it? Sometimes it's more about getting along, and that can be really hard. Your poem is a pretty good summary of weighing the pros and cons, and coming up with we all conclude—sometimes life is just plain hard.

Keep writing.
