Rosewater
Gentle infusion of the scent of rose petalfilling my nose
my mind
my being
a scent I used to dislike
The light so bright
I cannot find its source
- neither do I think to attempt to know, and can only revel in the gentle brightness
Persian carpets
a welcome and soft warmth against my shoeless feet
in the fresh cold of the israeli winter
I shiver
but the calm and peace
that seems to permeate this silence
I breathe it in
like an ocean with reviving waters
I sink into the moments
minutes
hours I spend here
The centre of my universe
So calm I cannot sense
though my mind revels in the thought
that the whole of the earth revolves around this spot
That every leaf breathes its love to this place
That every atom that makes up my body, my beating heart
longs to stay here
at Your threshold
