A Flash of Red
The day I saw a flash of redI couldn't describe.
Whether it was better to be dying or dead
Or to commit suicide.
So many people say "be thankful for your life"
But what have I to gain?
Only pain and misery
The hated feelings that remain.
How can I convince everyone I'm human
Just like them
Even though they make the same mistakes
It's me they decide to condemn.
But hey, I'm just a screw up
Who people won't miss
If I decide to pick up the knife
And surrender to death's wicked kiss
So should I say "goodbye cruel world"?
I think not
Even though my world has turned
Into neglect that's left to rot
No, I'll pick myself up and dust myself off
And live for another day
Because the tiny bit of hope I have
Will carry me a long way
