Swapping grass stains for over worked brains.

We all did it, back in primary school aged ten,

Skipped around the playground, and tried building a den,

Everyone's grown up now, everyone's moved on,

But the memories won't fade, they are far from being gone!

The two Emma's and me: Vampire, Witch and Ghost,

And the times we had a tea party, with grass made toast!

Childhood memories ... such beautiful things,

The good times and laughter, the joy they used to bring,

The long walk on the beach, Me, Jimmy and Emma,

and the trips to Weelsby Woods, we were all together,

Katie spraining her wrist at the school disco,

The DJ shouting out 'How low can you go!?'

Pestered by a guy on MSN, he wouldn't let us be,

Emma's male friend on cam to him - one two three!

I'd love to re-live, the days we all went out,

Or sat around doing nothing, that's what frienships about!

Everyone together, not worrying about there looks,

But fun and enjoyment's now transformed into books!

Adrian Wood
I am trying to picture Weelsby woods
There was a wood near our house when I was young where the aliens and dragons would drop by for a snack on their way to conquer worlds unknown. I say aliens but really it was my mate with a green mask. I remember falling into the pond having a fight with a dragon - put out his fire that did.
Really good poem this as it opens memories so thank you.
