Inside
I carry the strengthof a thousand defeats
and the warmth of a thousand sunrises in me
brother
My open heart is stronger
Than your closed fists
Look, the lines in my face
As written by seagulls in the sky
Brings a song for your hands
To open them
To let rivers of honey remove the barbed wires
From the lifelines
In your hateful palms
These colors are mine
sister
Our human minds are arrows
Meant for the sky
They are not meant for the blood-stenched soil
on your battlefields
The shame you seek
To give me
Is yours
Only yours
I will not carry it
Like your lost child
If you do not allow me to teach it love
And compassion
Your angry words may close
The entrance in the coalmine
That is my heart
For a while
But they will never remove
the diamonds inside
or the songs of my siblings
that cling between the walls
