the way an abandoned ship
eventually sinks

Or the way a rope
suddenly breaks

I shall leave you the way
a spark leaves the fire
in the woods
Rise into the sky
and vanish
without sorrow or song

Or the way a leaf
leaves its tree
in October:

Sailing through the air
like a heart of amber
