I was out in my backyard reading a book and remembered this summer poem. I reworked it and hope it's a nice read on a sunny day.

My Backyard Paradise

The sun stretches across my lawn,
stenciling the fresh cut grass.
My beagle spreads a carpet
with his lazy whiskered sleep.
I read a book with squinted eyes,
and drink ice tea in measured sips.
Life slows to a leisured crawl,
in my backyard paradise.

'Tis good to have a back garden put to such good use, I'm lucky enough to have a lovely back garden, not sunny at the moment though, the weather here is abysmal! But looking forward to some "paradise moments."
