those words

those words
like fruit from a tree
entangle the reader
in the mystery
until savoured
absorbed
with a tang
of bitterness
a pang of sweetnessness
so we know
those words are true
like you

You've served up a delicacy, Eli, and I savored it

For many years I had a small orchard - apples, plums, blackberries and gooseberries - "tang of bitterness, pang of sweetness." Not only a magical place but a metaphor for life. Fine poem Eli.

Wow, what an image to sup on: an entangling fruit! Beautiful and powerful image. Thanks for sharing!

I like this simile and how it is carried through. That's effective imagery!
