Once I rode a quest for the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne and found a maiden fair imprisoned by her own despair.

I kissed her gently and carried her to freedom

By my hand this day Orlando 12th Paladin.

Once I was A Paladin by M.A.Meddings

Once I was a Paladin

By M.A.Meddings

Once I was a Paladin
From the court of Charlemagne
And rode a mighty stallion
To the fields of Acheron

For in the catacombs of Gor
A dragon black as night
Had kept entombed a maiden fair
A ransome to incite

She was the princess Jolande
Her beauty widely known
And in her heart no ugliness
No sadness but her own

And so I rode to Acheron
A broad sword to my side
To kill the dragon Megrims
And save the maidens hide

But when I came to Acheron
I found no dragon there
The beauty of our hearts
Was a prisoner to her own despair

There was no use for the sword
A kiss my only weapon
And assurance she was dearly loved
We would dispel this dark depression

Once I was a Paladin
From the court of Charlemagne
And rode a mighty stallion
To the fields of Acheron.
