There is no way to love someone insane.

A crystal glass,
always
either full or empty

red wine
for the blues

white
for manic enlightenment

Thoughts emptying out into the wineglass.

There is no way
to love
someone maddened
enough.

She lies on a cobbled street
in darkness.
The freeze turning her warm breath into gray smoke.
She waits for a friend to lie down beside her, take her hand in theirs.
But no one ever comes.

The silence deafening.

There is no way
to love
someone insane
enough.

Madness claws with desperation
at the heart you're holding out in front of you, offering to share,
until it breaks.
And you walk away.
Leaving her alone. Like they always do.

An overwhelming hole in her chest. Aching. Praying. But no one ever comes.

Ninety-four tablets.
A bottle of red.

The gray smoke fades and dissipates.

No one ever comes.
Because there is no way
to love
someone insane
enough.

Ooh lah... how true, how totally true. The images flow together in progression, like a short film on steroids. Thanks for sharing.
