moral-less fable
once upon a timea spider net was spread by its creator
all over a jasmine bush,
bunching the whole roundness in its embrace
just like a fragile hair net.
days passed,
the delicate snare constantly proving
its efficiency in meshing
all sort of insects,
even butterflies.
deliciously trapped in the web
two such imagos found themselves brought together
by the complex weave,
and after some futile attempts to escape,
they accepted with grace their fate
and began to talk to one another
in anticipation of their dramatic denouement.
they admired with alleged fair play
the marvelous weaving of the net
and the skillful art of their entrapper,
they exchanged opinions on the jasmine fragrance
surrounding them,
they issued theories on the possible origin
of the bright light flowing over their shivering wings,
they fell in love and then revolted,
they resigned
and in the end they hushed.
but the spider didn't come,
no matter how much they waited.
in the end they died just as they were,
caught in the silky threads,
unable to understand their fate.
but how could they know
that due to the vastness of the web
and the number of insects caught
the spider slept, its belly full,
in a different part of the bush?!
