Sculpting

I regret but I forget to remember that
I made the best choices I could have at the time and
every choice led me away from my

preconceived notions and ideas of what I needed and wanted in
love

and towards someone I was able to chose because of
the qualities that emerged as lacking or most valuable in the
past failures

So now I can see you and communicate with you truly
for what is important

and not flickering interests and commonalities and beautiful personalities.

But loyalty and
that when I look at your face and actions I know
you really do truly, selflessly love
me

This is a lovely poem of the exploration and finally the finding of true love, which often has nothing to do with our preconceived ideas. I enjoyed the frankness in it.
