Like a thief in the night
The great and good changes in the world happenin the silent, kind acts of humans
the changing of hearts
the revolutionizing of views on human nature
and one's own life
not portrayed on the news
or proclaimed by politicians
They happen while we have our backs turned
drowning ourselves in Facebook and TV
apps and candy crush saga
and frustrating games of love and dating
The changes are roaring at us
tearing down our world
yet we only complain about the destruction
and fail to recognize the rebuilding
Because it is happening where we no longer look to
and is carried by a name we are taught to
discount and criticize
or distrust
