Imprint
Beyond my in the moment wants and needsmy past experiences and calculated perceptions
the scared reactions that well up in me, or the coincidental recognitions
beyond the clothes you wear and my continuous first impressions of you
the gentle mannerisms you may wear to appease external wants
polishing and eroding at how you
impress yourself
upon my memory
Past all that
You begin to emerge into my world
as a coherent, complex, unified whole
something entirely beyond
the vague imprints most people leave behind
and entirely more real
than any other person has been to me
