Shelter

In our shelter of bliss

The trees embrace each other,

Drenching the amber warmth

Still seeping from a broiling sky.

The fallen leaves soften Earth's kiss

Pressing into our footprints

That eventually die

Where we rest and share the night air.

All bronzed and sun-slapped,

We glow as the fireflies and floating embers

Sparking the night amidst starlight.

Birdsongs mingle with guitar strums

That slowly settle into silence

And the heart hums

The sweet sleep

Of dreams.
