A Reason To Care
Listen you people of all time and kindI lay down in writing what is on my mind
I give you my joy, my grief and despair
But just don't know why I should care
The river runs its course to the sea
A passing moment like you and me
The things that are waitin' up 'round the bend
They've always been and will be to the end
You count yourself among the wise
But maybe you're just a fool in disguise
Whatever the shape of the mask you wear
The moment of death we all must share
You came here naked out of the womb
Naked they lower you down in the tomb
You gather from work and coincidence
But nothin' worth for your own defence
Listen you people of all time and kind
And lay down in writing what is on your mind
Give me your hopes and fears if you dare
And the reason why I should even care
