Love Forever Gone

Your words revealed the beauty of your soul
A treasure once hidden in the sea
You spoke to my ears with words of love
When I carved your heart in the tree
But I'm not drinkin' your cup any more
'Cause you ain't my cup of tea

Your lips were soft and sweet as honey
When I suckled your rose like a bee
But ears and eyes were deaf and blind
To the truth anybody could see
That I'm not drinkin' your cup any more
And you ain't my cup of tea

Your tears they clung to the last of hopes
When you sang your song like a swan
But now, let us fill a last cup of sorrow
To old times forgot and foregone
And then, let us drink just one more toast
To the love that's forever gone

Wow ... Strong words that I would not welcome were they directed at me from my beloved. Beautiful poem reminiscent of the classics. Can love felt so strongly really be forever gone? You seem to leave no doubt about it.
