Beyond Belief

I am hanging in the balance
At a place we call mankind
Between the wisdom of my heart
And the reason of my mind

A cross is here for me to carry
The thorns for me prescribed
And every nail that pierce my hand
Has life's reality inscribed

I bow my head in humble prayer
My burdens won't get worse
But to every gift from heaven
The devil adds his curse

I sail through troubled waters
In a faint and fading light
And the beacons they are few
In the dark and empty night

I knock upon that door within
The one that leads unto my Self
To seek out that which saves me
And gives wholeness to myself

For every autumn leaf that falls
A new life starts to climb
For every mind that dies to Self
The Kingdom's bells will chime

Melodic like a song, a hymn perhaps. I enjoyed it.

Ahh ... redemption after the darkness ... I like that. Beautiful writing!
