Transient Liaisons.

Shall you remember me at rising sun?
When love's sweet fire is doused by dawning day
Or would you say ''farewell, what's done is done''
In fear my love would not forever stay.

Would you with honesty of noble thought
Sleep well in bed of transient embrace
To wake in morn with that you had not sought
Adieu's from soon forgotten loveless face.

I shall remember you with fond recall
Your name to wed in union with desire
And would I could in true love with you fall
But I am alas consumed by wanton fire.

I shall remember you forever more
No finer accolade could I impart
And of all the ladies exiting my door
You my dear depart now with my heart

So please remember me in barren times
And know our coupling was of a mutual need
Our liaison was though brief nigh quite sublime
As we in transitional love that devil feed.
Brendan.
