Lament
The fifth season is a mute girl

the seasons of the letter L

.l.
Long Year
she said
when I was born
then she packed three leather suitcases
two plastic bags
and went there

.ll.
Listen
he said
it`s spring
the loudest sound of all the seasons
We listened and ate breakfast outside

.lll.
Laughter
in water
Don`t throw jellyfish he told us
for they are living creatures as well
At night there were owls

.lV.
Lavender
is what we planted on her grave
I wanted to plant daffodils but they were out of season
She`ll like lavender he said
I left her my white ribbon
to remember me by
She always loved white

Lourdes, this poem is captivating. As I read it over and over again, I absorb more and more. Your poetry is inventive, fresh, complex and enticing. Plus more than those few words can express. I since a deepest of soul, spirit, and heart in you. Beautifully done. : ) kathy
