Irish Blood

Breathe new life into my soul Irish wind
Release my greatest fears as the air absolves my sins
Let me whisper my confessions, pray you'll forgive all my transgressions
Breathe new life into my soul Irish wind

Wash away my heartache Irish rain
Draw forth the greenest grasses, in fields of clover I will lay
Let the darkness that I've gained be in the past with all my pain
Wash away my heartache Irish rain

Build a home inside my heart Irish song
Give me the strength you gave ancestors when everything seemed wrong
I'll dance from Wicklow to Roundwood, and hope the crops we yield are good
Build a home inside my heart Irish song

Hold me in your strength Irish blood
I've learned not to say too much, because my faith should be enough
As my seanmháthair before me, know that family will restore me
Hold me in your strength Irish blood

Bring peace to my life Irish wind
From the shores outside of Dublin, To the home I now live in.
For your child that soon will be
And for all my family
Bring peace to our lives Irish wind

Beautiful poem about a beautiful country with a beautiful heart. May that soft Irish wind always be at your back.
