Have you met yourself?

It's in the dawn of darkness
When the horizon disappears
And the only orientation you possess
is your memory of what you saw just before the dark thickened enough for your eyes to become useless.
Or in the piercing sound of wood being dragged against the floor
as the tables are turning
When you have to see fairness in the fact that your weight and will, can never stop them.
Or it can be in the silent stare of the one you love
When you cannot stand the feeling their non-convincing smile emits
And you're sure it's full of secrets,
but, also, you're sure you cannot handle them.

You are, in all, the strength that comes in embracing the one you never thought you could. The blinded belief that the image in your memory will guide you to where you need to go. The courage it takes to stand still and face the judgment when the tables turn.
That is where you meet yourself.
THAT IS YOU. That - you are.

Have you met yourself yet?
