A brief thought on the eve of the New Year.

turn that leaf over

As I sit and ponder the last hours of this year,
I realise that each of us present still possesses
The inner capacity to be leaf turners:
Whatever may come, whichever direction we choose,
We have been, all of us given, a new leaf to turn.
It may as well turn out more than a mere leaf of a calendar.

I like this thought. Almost like we believed in confession when we were children and all our sins could be erased by the command of a priest and a few Hail Mary's. A new year ... a new leaf. Thanks.

It's always nice to know that we can make a new start with a fresh, new leaf.
