is the autumn butterfly

that darts

from one empty blossom to the next

beautiful

but too quickly gone to see how beautiful

little does she know

the garden here blooms late, blooms

eternally

offering untold bounty

land here

settle, sip, imbibe, do not fly away again

rest your weary wings

then behold, you have landed

on the butterfly tree

rich with the color from untold numbers of dazzling wings

or beat your wings

in sad migration to oblivion

do not mistake silence as anything but silence

~~~
love is only elusive to the elusive
This is very different to the others but equally enjoyable:)
I've heard that the monarch butterfly is in danger of extinction. Not related to your poem, but the fact worries me. Carefully composed and beautiful. One of the most charming things about butterflies seems to be their elusiveness. They only give us a couple of moments to delight in them--and then they're off to the next nectar source :)
ah how great it would be to live inside silence instead of following someone else's footprints in the sand;)
Thank you for sharing:)
