hunger, of a sort

                          *

han shan was an observer of human nature,

his own and others'.

he is what he was and will be,

subject to his appetites.

han shan might have added,

this man would do well to visit cold mountain.

Your poem brings to mind the way we all need to learn to deal with our own appetites as the way to reach Cold Mountain. Not an easy climb.
Good one. *

"People ask the way to Cold Mountain
but roads don't reach Cold Mountain"

We don't come there by roads but by a path of our own making, as you are.
