action and reaction

~

becky goes into a sulk

leaves me guessing as to why

though it's always me in the end, the cause

intuition is important to her

if i intuit incorrectly she takes it personally

it is subtle, this game of non-verbal communication

i'm good at it, but not good enough

she slaps me—hard

whatever it is we have seems highly qualified

more physical than not, i surmise

This is a slight poem, but it's very well written. I've been having the same thoughts about someone lately.

Interesting. My first thought was that becky was a child. But perhaps I am very wrong. Nice though.

I've been that person at times, that attitude of "if you loved me you would know what I'm thinking without my having to say it" . . . there's something passive-aggressive about it and strange too for someone who loves words, yet something about the other person would make me demand a proof of caring that was neither fair nor possible.
