Write me a moonstone
Silence, writes me a melody, rain falling, a slide from grace,
she runs rivulets of tears,
lacing the spiderwebs in
drops like moonstone,
little translucent seed pearls
that settle then fall
and scatter.
Silence, write my name
spell it bold
wrap it in tissue
and hold in a box
with a diamond clasp,
take me out to dance
and the only glance you seek
is me, the song bird
flying to warmer climes,
underneath the lime tree
her understated wine.
