My second attempt on a work on Cecil the lion.

WHEN A WILD AND FREE ANIMAL

Now - when a wild animal given a friendly - none threatening - human name
That animal - is given an - identity
Humans - identify - fall in love with the creatures - be they hunters - or only eat their Greens
One well know lion - hunted down - eventually killed - the world - outrages loudly
Tack to the social media - say how wrong it were - crocodile tears maybe - on the Day The lion named Cecil - was hunted down - four elephants were also killed hunted Down - their tusks - the prize - for the hunters
No outrage - from the world - go figure - none had names - maybe numbers Somewhere - else - on a database - probably

I see your meaning Ken. Information is controlled and we only get the news they want to give us. And yes it is because the Lion became sentient in our eyes that the outrage occurred. I wonder how many people would eat a steak if they nurtured the calf from birth? Nice work.

Åsa Andersson
We so often relate only to individuals that we feel we "know" somehow, whether it is an animal or a human being. Once we realize there is a Name to someone, it is much more difficult to look away.

One can only hope that Cecil the lion's fate will help to prevent other nameless lions being killed for fun...
