capricious recollection
you wrapped up all seasons in one
and fashioned so much more;
you brought smiles & tears & shudders,
caused hardest rock to melt
like snow on budding sunrise morns
never feigning affection nor admitting defeat
no longer wielding, finally yielding
a refrain that tomorrow shan't repeat
perhaps then, only in reminiscent
sighing balladeers shall ink and sing
of moments you so easily forgot
