In the absence of a rattling good read
I may strive to entertain you with a rhyme
Though I`m unaware of what it is you need
To ensure you have a scintillating time.

Now the pen is skipping lively on the page
A sincere attempt at filling up the void
Teetering on the brink of writer`s rage
Deciding on the means to be employed.

Phrases , verbs and nouns are all involved
Enjoying a game of football in my head
The final score remaining unresolved
I decide to brew a cup of tea instead.
