prelude to a nocturne

~

all things conspire

to make this our night of love

classically speaking    all is in place

starry night   cool air

a breeze coming in lightly

through our open windows

candles lit   music softly playing

dinner nicely settled   wine

working its quiet magic

your loveliness working its own magic

and if I can mange

to avoid saying something critical

some little passing remark which cuts

we will love this night away

If it's real love... even if there is a little accidental remark, you can still love the night away.

This is great. Alas, that fear of making the false move leads one to become stiff and artificial, almost guaranteeing that something will go wrong. You have to get past that. Who's standing in your way, Marketa or you?

"nothing is perfect" only when we're forcing things to be perfect.

Once we let go, a night like the one you described can't be anything less than perfect.

Fantastic, in its truest meaning.

Thoroughly enjoyed.
