Not the excellent song by TLI with T-Pain, this is a poem by me (still about boats though). floating gloating boating.

I'm On a BOAT

A damp morning was blowing through
Rippling the lapping tides and
Rattling the stray ropes and lines
We cooked breakfast huddled like sheep
Below in the warmth and heard the gulls
And soon it was decided, before talk faded,
We would set out presently to the ocean
So we tidied up plates and we readied the ship
Gurgled out the harbor in a glittering slipstream
Tasted salt like fire or ice in the throat
Slid past ancient iron barnacle fortresses
And away to the waves.

Very nice. Especially "ancient iron barnacle fortresses." That phrase has an interesting rhythm to it. And I like the way the ending anticipates new adventures and excitement.

Sounds delightful...gloating? No! just good living, in a poem.

Float on...

Smiling at you
